WA First Home Owners Grant
The West Australian government offer a $10,000 first home owner grant to purchase or build a new home and, in some cases, a substantially renovated home.
As with other states, applicants must be 18 years or over, be an Australian citizen or resident and have not received a first home owner grant from any jurisdiction in Australia.
The home must also be occupied as a principal place of residence for at least six months within twelve months of settlement and applicants and their spouses or co-owners must not have owned a residential property anywhere in Australia before 1 July 2000.
The land on which the home is situated must meet right to occupancy requirements.
WA Concessional First Home Owner Rate of Duty
This scheme is for those who would have qualified for a first home owner grant if it was available for purchasing established homes.
In some cases, this concession is available for those not eligible for the first home owner grant or for those who have purchased property with others who are not eligible.
